Nattycancook @ The Greyhound …

My friend decided to take me out to dinner and the location was a surprise, we ended up at  Natty Can Cook at the Greyhound Pub in Peckham, and what I experienced was nothing short of extraordinary. I have been following this young man on TikTok , so I was truly excited to be sitting in his place

From the moment the first dish landed on my table, it was clear that he is a chef brimming with innovative ideas and fearless creativity.

The menu itself reads like a culinary adventure, starting with the lamb cooked three ways—each preparation distinct yet harmonious. Every forkful revealed subtle complexities: melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, crisply rendered edges, and bold, earthy flavors all working together in an almost theatrical performance on the plate. And then came the lobster: a buttery indulgence so delicate that it practically dissolved as I savoured it. Its sweetness was amplified by careful seasoning and a beautifully minimal presentation that allowed the true quality of the seafood to shine.

But it wasn’t just the mains that dazzled. Take, for instance, the macaroni cheese croquette—something so comforting and familiar was transformed into a sophisticated bite. Crisp on the outside and gooey on the inside, this playful reinvention teased out nostalgic flavours in a thoroughly modern package. The pork belly was another stunner, achieving that elusive crackling exterior and succulent interior balance, its richness offset by a deftly chosen sauce and thoughtful accompaniments.

Dessert brought further surprises. The red velvet cheesecake was a showstopper both visually and in flavour: a vibrant slice that managed to be both densely indulgent and airy on the palate. Meanwhile, the apple pie was almost too pretty to eat. Its architectural presentation took a homely classic and made it feel like a special occasion, each element arranged with an artist’s eye for detail.

It’s hard to leave Natty’s table without imagining him in a setting that fully matches his culinary brilliance. A West End location would be the perfect stage for his talents—somewhere he could truly shine and receive the recognition he deserves. For now, if you find yourself in Peckham, do yourself the favour of discovering this hidden gem you need to book in advance, but it will be worth it I promise.

It’s more than just a meal; it’s the work of an inspired chef who’s rewriting the rules one impeccable dish at a time.

Will be heading back for part 2 , 3, 4, 5 ……

Until da next Tyme
