BA Terminal 5 vs Virgin Terminal 3……….

Hi there all,

So I am flying BA for the first time in 20 years , it’s been a while every since Virgin took their crown and became King of the Skies

My journey begins at London Heathrow Terminal 5….. Since it was built and hyped as the newest and biggest terminal in Europe, I was naturally intrigue to see it.

In terms of Airlines, BA owns this and it’s far exceeds all the other terminals 1,2,3, or 4 so point 1 to BA.

The arrival to the airport was amazingly effortless , it was a smooth transition from train to check in…compared to Virgin at Terminal 3, there was less walking, so point 2 to BA.

Checking in process was relatively easy, the self checking was easy, there was less staff to assist and there were no scales to help, unlike the Virgin Terminal, so point 3 to Virgin.

Shopping experience Terminal 5 is amazing and wins this points hands down with the choices available. It far exceeds the offerings at Terminal 3. There are so much choices, that if not careful, you could miss your flight;)

Travelling to the gate….this is where it gets fun, there is a transit train like in the US to each gate…..frickking amazing and so much fun, so no more long walk to the gates….. Awesome, this point 4 goes to BA.

Onboard, now this is where there is a huge difference , BA dropped the ball on customers service years ago and Virgin picked it up and ran with it. The seats in BA economy is more roomy, but the service is lacking Virgin offers more in terms of customer interaction and their levels of cabin class is far more superior. Virgin got this point easily.

Flight service Virgin is a clear winner here, their attention to service and their customers during the flight is unbelievable , my flight with BA I saw more of my fellow passengers than I did my cabin attendants.

Overall Experience has to be handed to Virgin, it has to be their customer service that wins me over every time , they actually make me feel special, where as with BA I feel like just a seat number…

However in terms of terminals, there is no discussion , Terminal 5 wins hands down, it is a travellers grotto of delight , an experience that most travellers need to try at least once during their flying life 😉

So there you have it people it seems to be a draw, but it’s down to personal preference and experience, in my case Virgin does it for me!

Happy Flying!

Until da next Tyme
